Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge in Kenya

The Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge is a national entrepreneurship and innovation programme designed to equip secondary school learners across Kenya with practical entrepreneurial skills, innovative thinking, and the confidence to identify and solve real-world problems. The programme provides learners with an engaging digital experience where they explore entrepreneurship through interactive challenges and activities.

Through the programme, students develop skills such as problem-solving, creativity, resilience, initiative, teamwork, and innovative thinking. They are encouraged to identify challenges within their communities and develop ideas that can create meaningful solutions and opportunities.

Cedarwood Productions supported the documentation of the Wavumbuzi experience in Kenyan high schools through professional photography and videography. Our team captured student engagement, learning activities, interactions with facilitators and teachers, and the overall atmosphere of the programme. Through visual storytelling, Cedarwood Productions documented the experiences and perspectives of young participants while highlighting the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation among Kenya’s youth.

The documentation provides a visual record of the programme’s activities and helps communicate its impact to schools, partners, stakeholders, and wider audiences. Our Documentation Approach

Cedarwood Productions approached the Wavumbuzi Entrepreneurship Challenge as a visual storytelling project focused on capturing the energy, creativity, and participation of young learners in Kenyan high schools. Our objective was to document the programme authentically while creating compelling visual content that communicates the experience beyond the classroom.

Through photography and videography, our team captured learners participating in entrepreneurship activities, engaging with facilitators and teachers, collaborating with their peers, and developing innovative ideas. We focused on natural interactions and meaningful moments to ensure that the documentation reflected the real experiences of the students rather than simply recording events.

The project also provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of entrepreneurship education among young people. By documenting students as they explored problem-solving, creativity, innovation, and enterprise, Cedarwood Productions helped create a visual record of how practical learning can encourage young people to think differently about opportunities and challenges within their communities.

Our production approach combined professional camera work, purposeful composition, event coverage, and storytelling to create engaging photographs and video content.
